Birthstones

 

Find out about your birthstone, as it may help you choose a colour scheme for your wedding day. We use crystals in stead of gemstones, as modern crystals are more affordable then gemstone’s and come in many different colours and sparkle. Below is a list of birthstones with an image of crystal alternative to the real gemstone.

 

 

 

 

Garnets are a brilliant dark red colour, and according to traditional folklore gave the wearer guidance during the night. They can be found in America and Africa.

Amethyst Is a beautiful crystal purple in colour. And is thought to have healing and protection properties. They can be found in Uruguay, south America and Zambia.

Aquamarine  A light blue colour.  And is thought to have youthful and good health properties. They can be found in Madagascar, Nigeria, Zambia  and other countries.

Diamonds are one of the most know precious stones. First found in India about 2000 years ago and are used in all types of jewellery most commonly used for engagement rings.

 Emerald the stunning green coloured gem is occasionally found in the mines of Colombia. Due to it being relatively rare there is a need for synthetic emeralds.

 

Pearls can range from synthetic pearl beads which can have a large range of colours to fresh water  pearls  and   Cultured pearls all pearl types can come in meany different sizes.

Ruby is a fiery red colour. They can be found in Kenya, Thailand and other countries.

Peridot  Is a much lighter green than emerald. Peridot is created by volcanic motions. and can be found in Hawaii, Burma and China.

Sapphire  is a deep blue colour, and hard wearing. This stone can be found in Thailand, Australia, and the America

Opals can vary in colour but all have a instinctive glittering to them. Opals can be found Australia, Mexico and some parts of America.

Topaz  is greatly valued as a gem and can be  red, blue, yellow, and green. With a transparent look to it. A burnt yellow colour is most popular and topaz gems can be found in south America, India and Russia.

Turquoise ranges from sky blue to a blue green finish. Turquoise can be found in Iran.
